Chasing Pure Locks: Sunday, November 7th, 2021

November 07, 2021 by Luke Anton

Warning: Proceed with caution!

Chasing Pure Locks is not for the faint of heart.

Our overall record since we started this segment of officially publishing 3 picks per day on Monday 11/01/21 is 6-12. That means if you have been fading our picks from the start, you are sitting pretty. And if you have been following us on all of these picks…

Well, you probably shouldn’t stop now, because it’s always darkest just before the dawn.

Pure Lock #1: Nets at Raptors +3.5

Kevin Durant returns to play the Raptors in the Scotiabank Arena, Toronto, today for the first time since this... pic.twitter.com/v50rlQlAt8

Seeing this of course made us want to pick the Nets. But honestly, the Raptors feel like the better, stronger, faster and deeper team right now.

Siakam is playing today in his first game of the season. And it looks like he’s the… starting Center?

Lineup alert: Raptors will start VanVleet, Trent Jr., Barnes, Anunoby, Siakam on Sunday.

Well, he and Barnes are both 6-9, but that’s besides the point. It’s a position-less game! And the Nets starting Center is Blake anyway. The Raptors have a vicious defense and love to get out and run.

Toronto is 8th in fast break points scored. Brooklyn is 28th in fast break defense.

Pure Lock #2: Cavs at Knicks Over 207

In a land where Unders continue to be all the rage, it feels bold to pick an Over right now.

However, the Cavs have scored over 100 points in 3 straight games, and the Knicks have scored over 100 in 8 out of 9 games this season.

We like those numbers.

Pure Lock #3: Hornets +6 at Clippers

The Hornets commenced the season 3-0, but they are currently riding a 3-game losing streak into Staples tonight.

I love adversity

Six points feels like a lot of points to give a highly motivated Hornets team against a Clippers team that was 1-4 a week ago but has since beat the Thunder and T-Wolves twice.

As always, we’ll be back late tonight with a recap of these picks.

We love this game!
