Pure Lock #1: Knicks at Hornets Over 224.5

The day after the Junder defeated the Pesky Pacers for us at long last, it only feels right to jump in on a Hornets Over. Especially in a matchup where the numbers back it up.

Offense: Knicks 4th. Hornets 8th.
Defense: Knicks 23rd. Hornets 27th.

Yes, this was the case when we took the Hornets-Grizzlies Over on Wednesday night that fell short in the end, but it was very much on pace, and we definitely still believe that two top-10 offenses + two bottom-10 defenses = take the Over!

Also, from Zach Lowe’s 10 Things column today: Only the Knicks and Rockets have given up more wide-open 3s than the Hornets, per NBA.com. Wide open 3s, music to an Overs’ ears.

Pure Lock #2: Nets -9.5 at Pelicans

Our projections had the Nets -12.5 in this one. (This Under 213.5 also looks pretty good considering the Nets and Pelicans have both gone Under in 9 out of 12 games this season.)

Pure Lock #3: Bulls +5.5 at Warriors

Listen, we really don’t like to bet against Steph. Like really, really. (E-Babs convinced us to take the Blazers last season when Steph dropped his career-high 62 points.)

But it’s been since October 28th since the Warriors played a team anywhere close to as good as the Bulls. The Warriors lost to the Grizzlies in that game and have since defeated the Thunder, Hornets, Pelicans, Rockets, Hawks and T-Wolves.

Vooch is out with Covid (get well soon, Vooch!), yet he was honestly holding the Bulls back in a lot of games from being even better than they already have been.

You best believe that we are also going to take the Over on Steph’s points to cover ourselves.
